First Conditional Listening Exercise – If You Don’t Know Me

The first conditional listening exercise is a song by the Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes. The lyrics have several examples of the first conditional. 

The first conditional is also called the future conditional because it is for events in the future. The structure looks like this:

If + Subject + Verb(present) + Subject + Verb(future)

Examples:

• If you go to the party, you will meet my boyfriend.
• If she arrives on time, we will start at 9:00 am.
• If they work tomorrow, we won’t go to the park.
